About us

One buyer, named before you commit

Most companies that answer the phone when you search for a wrecked car buyer will not tell you who ends up with the car. We will, before you agree to anything.

The national quote sites run an auction in the background. You submit your vehicle, they broker it to whichever local yard bids highest that week, and a truck arrives from a company whose name you have never heard. The number you were quoted was never a commitment, because the company that quoted you had no vehicle, no truck and no money in the transaction.

California Wrecked Cars is the other model. This is TrackWala's site for the California market, and TrackWala is the buyer. The offer comes from TrackWala, the truck is dispatched by TrackWala, and TrackWala hands you the payment.

Who we actually are

The company behind this site, and the company that purchases your vehicle, is Blue Ribbon Auto Sales LLC, an Arizona-licensed dealer trading as TrackWala, with an office at 2627 W Birchwood Cir, Ste 1, Mesa, AZ 85202.

We are straightforward about what that means. Blue Ribbon is licensed in Arizona, not California, and we do not pretend otherwise. What you get here is a single named buyer who puts the number in writing before dispatch, files your REG 138 the same day, and pays you before the truck leaves. You are never handed to a bidder you have not spoken to.

Who runs it

John Blobner is co-founder and chief executive of TrackWala. He has spent more than thirty years in the vehicle business, including executive roles at Cox Automotive on the wholesale and remarketing side, and four years running this same acquisition model for another company before founding TrackWala. He can be reached directly at john@trackwala.com or (678) 644-8343.

When you have spent decades watching what damaged vehicles actually transact for, it becomes obvious how much value ordinary sellers give away when their only two options are a body shop estimate and a scrap quote. That is the gap this company was built to work in.

Who checks the DMV guidance on this site. John reviews every page that describes a California form or procedure before it is published, and each of those explanations links the DMV's own page so you can check it against the source rather than taking our word for it. We are not attorneys and we are not the DMV. Where your situation decides the answer, we say so and point you at the specific form instead of guessing on your behalf.

Why we focus on wrecked and totaled cars

Almost every buyer in this category optimizes for the same vehicle: an old, high-mileage car worth roughly its weight in metal. That is a real business, and for a 2003 sedan with 240,000 miles the scrap number is close to the right number.

It is the wrong number for a three-year-old vehicle with front-end damage. A late-model car declared a total loss still contains a drivetrain, a body, electronics and a set of components with real market value. Scrap-weight pricing ignores all of it.

What the gap looks like in practice

On a 2016 Hyundai Sonata the scrap quote was $475. We paid $1,350. On a 2020 Toyota Highlander XLE that the owner had been told was finished, we paid $12,500.

$475 → $1,3502016 Sonata
$12,5002020 Highlander XLE

We built the company around that gap because, in the markets we were working, very little was competing for it. Here is where the cars actually end up, which is the part that sets what any buyer can afford to pay you.

What we will not do

  • We will not quote a number and revise it when the driver arrives.
  • We will not sell or rent your contact information, and we will not auction your vehicle to a pool of third-party bidders. Your details go to TrackWala, the company buying the car, and nowhere else.
  • We will not let you find out about a missing form on pickup day. We tell you which paperwork applies on the first call.
  • We will not tell you your car is worthless to make an easy purchase. If a scrap yard is genuinely your best outcome on a given vehicle, we will say so.

Wonderful experience from the very beginning to the very end. Offered me more money than any other place. Whole experience was painless. I will definitely be recommending them to others and will plan on using them again in the future.

These guys were so easy to deal with. They made me an offer, I accepted the offer, and they called me with pick up time. Then they showed up right on time with my check for the agreed on amount. Thank you so much Trackwala.

I had got a quote from a different company that Court horse me into signing the title and the wrong spot before they give me a price once I signed it they give me a price that was real low so I moved on to a different company and when they came to pick the vehicle up since I signed it there it blocked them from selling the car to me so I reach out to this company and he was able to coach me in the right spot to get the title fixed and my girlfriend entered in the wrong mileage which made the car worth more and he quoted the higher price and still honored the higher price even though the mileage was incorrect he's a good man good company I recommend them highly
